Message from the Director

The First Judicial District Department of Correctional Services strives for an Iowa with no more victims by providing services and programming proven to reduce risk to reoffend.  We are committed to providing every person under supervision opportunities for positive change.  Community based corrections is successful through the collaboration with community partners and families.

We help keep our communities safer by ensuring a balanced approach to supervision and treatment.  We want to be responsive to the needs of victims and hold offenders accountable for making restitution and learning ways to give back to the community they have harmed.  We count on members of the community to help with successful offender re-entry.

Please feel free to contact us for more information about
our services.
